TECHNICAL DEFINITION
CE 78 Joint Cement is a powder filler designed specifically for jointing tapered edge plasterboard in combinaison with a joint tape. The mix can be used for more than 24 hours, and application can be mechanical or manuel.

  • Cracking: No cracking up to 5 mm thickness

PACKAGING
25 kg bag
COMPOSITION
Powder filler based on calcium carbonate, resin and various additives.
The mixe obtained is white.
SUITABLE SUBSTRATES
All types of plasterboard with or without insulation (glass wool, rock wool, polystyrene) with tapered edges and paper facing.
STORAGE
9 months in original unopened package, protected from damp.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
Plasterboard will be attached as per DTU 25.41 and 25.42
Cut edges of boards must be bevelled and dusted.
MIXING RATIO
From 10 to 11 l of water per 25 kg sack.
USE
Before jointing fill gaps between boards and any irregular joints and repair any damaged board.
Apply manually by using a 10 or 15 cm filling knife and apply the tape - milled face against the board. Then apply a finish coat, allow to dry and finish to cover the tape.
Also cover screw heads.
Apply a tape into the ceiling joins and ensure that the concrete is free of any signs of mould-release oil.
For vertical protuding angles use a reinforced tape (metal side against the board) or a metal angle bead.
APPLICATION TIP
CE 78 Joint Cement is only to be used in hot and dry weather.
DRYING TIME
Second coat may be applied 4 hours after application of the first coat.
CONSUMPTION
Approximately 350 g/m² of plasterboard
COVERING
Primer undercoat for plasterboard
Plaster-based smoothing filler
PRÉCAUTIONS_DEMPLOI
The temperature during application and drying must be between 5 and 30°C.
Do not apply to damp substrate.
Do not use on frozen substrates.
In winter and cold weather, use preferably our CE 78 (fast or very fast) setting fillers.
